Slimbook continues its unstoppable development to improve its products as we have been saying for a long time in this blog. What will be next? I'm sure there will be some nice surprises to come soon. Now, the Spanish company brings us this new version of the Slimbook Battery app, with which you can extend the life of your battery in laptops and thus enjoy a little more autonomy time so that you can squeeze the most out of the charge even from the last lithium ion.
The app can be installed in different desktop environments (Unity, GNOME, KDE Plasma, Cinnamon, MATE, ...) and distributions (preferably Ubuntu and derivatives), as well as other different computers (beyond Slimbook computers), and it integrates perfectly with other tools such as TLP, and the mechanisms of Linux kernel power management to control the states provided by the ACPI interface. In addition to these systems, Slimbook Battery provides three power modes for the system: Economy, Balanced and Maximum performance.
With it you can use the right mode for each moment and thus save watts when you are not needing them to extend the life of your battery. So… Come on, install it now!
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:slimbook/slimbook sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install slimbookbattery
Once installed, you can access it by searching for it from the launcher and navigate through its menus for making power settings necessary. They are quite simple as you can see in the images in the gallery that I have included. By the way, if you have any problem, you can generate a report in the last tab so that the group of Slimbook developers can get to work to solve this problem ... Remember that they provide us with these types of tools, and a way to return the favor is to help them improve them by testing and reporting the problems we find.
