ShareDrop is a "clone", see the quotes, of Apple's AirDrop, but it is much better for many reasons. The first is that works on any device that has a browser It has the ability to download files, which is practically all smart devices. The second thing is that we don't have to install extra software. In addition, ShareDrop also works on computers of all kinds, including those from Apple that have left "hanging" in a modern version of macOS.
ShareDrop: share files on connected computers on the same Wi-Fi network
Sharing files with ShareDrop is very simple:
- First we open your web page by clicking on this link (I'm sure you keep it in favorites). This is something that we have to do on both devices, that is, the one that is going to send the file and the one that is going to receive it. We will see something like what is heading this article (the text "ShareDrop" I have added it), an animal that says "You" below and another (s) above.
- We select the animal to whom we want to send the file.
- We choose the file we want to send. We can also drag and drop the file on top of the recipient animal.
- We accept the notice.
- On the receiving device, we also accept the notice. And that would be all. The file will be downloaded like any other that we download over the internet, offering us the possibility of saving or viewing it.
ShareDrop too allows us to send files to devices that are not connected to the same Wi-Fi network. To do this, we will click on the plus symbol (+) at the top right, we will copy the link that you provide and we will send it to whoever we want to send the file to. As you can see, everything is very simple, it works perfectly and we do not need more than a web browser. It's worth bookmarking the page, isn't it?
