Resetter or how to clean your Ubuntu or Linux Mint

Ubuntu 16.04 PC

Although Gnu / Linux distributions are very complete and powerful operating systems, the truth is that over time they also become slow and can cause operational problems. For this, it is always recommended to do a formatting or a clean installation, something that gets our computer ready again. But now there is a possibility to have this without having to do a clean install.

This can be achieved with the Resetter app. Resetter is an application for Ubuntu-based distributions that cleans our operating system and gets it ready.

Resetter is a free application that we can find in your github repository. This repository explains the functions and versions compatible with the application, as not all distributions are compatible with the application.

Resetter works like Windows restore

This tool does two functions: either it restores the computer when we install the distribution or it gives us to choose which programs we want to be eliminated. Also, with each option, the program clears the cache of all applications, making our Gnu / Linux system faster.

Resetter is an application that we can get through the deb package. And since it is only compatible with Ubuntu and Linux Mint, a double click will be enough to install the application in our operating system.

Here is the list of versions and distributions that are compatible with Resetter:

  • Linux Mint 18.1
  • Linux Mint 18
  • Linux Mint 17.3
  • Ubuntu 17.04
  • Ubuntu 16.10
  • Ubuntu 16.04
  • Ubuntu 14.04
  • Basic OS 0.4

Resetter is an interesting application but it is not something that cannot be done by other tools for Linux like BleachBit or Apt-Get. Tools that are already in our Linux. In any case, the results exist and Resetter can be a great help to avoid having to waste time installing a Gnu / Linux distribution.

Resetter and bleachbit are completely different. They have completely different functionalities like easy ppa and repository editor characterize it as. Also, bleachbit is a cleaner while resetter is a resetter.
