Few hours ago the release of the new version of the most popular open source office suite, LibreOffice 6.4, version that the Document Foundation presented through a post on its blog. This new version of LibreOffice 6.4 was prepared in 75% of the changes by employees of project control companies such as Collabora, Red Hat and CIB and 25% of the changes were added by independent enthusiasts.

LibreOffice 6.4 main new features
With the release of this new version of LibreOffice 6.4 one of the features that stands out is that for documents displayed on the home page, it is provided la icon display with application indicators, allowing you to immediately view the type of document.
Besides that the interface incorporates a QR code generator, who allows you to insert a QR code into the document with a user-specified link or arbitrary text, which can then be quickly read from a mobile device.
In Impress, Draw, Writer and Calc, the dialog box for inserting a QR code is opened via the menu «Insert - Object - QR Code«.
For all LibreOffice components, the context menu for manipulating hyperlinks is unified. In any document, through the context menu you can now open, edit, copy or delete the link.
The automatic editing tool has been expanded, what now allows you to hide classified or confidential data in exported documents (for example, when saving to PDF) based on user-defined text masks or regular expressions.
A built-in local search engine has been added for help pages, which allows you to quickly find the necessary clue (the search is based on the xapian-omega engine). Many help pages have localized screenshots, the language of the interface elements in which matches the language of the text.
In Impress and Draw, the "Consolidate Text" option has been added to the «Shape» menu, which allows you to combine several selected blocks with text into one. For example, a similar operation may be required after importing from PDF, as a result of which the text turned out to be divided into many disparate blocks.
The capabilities of the LibreOffice Online server edition have been expanded, allowing you to organize collaboration with the office suite over the Web. Writer Online now has the ability to change table properties Through the sidebar, implemented full support for working with the document's table of contents.
While for the version of Writer desktop now has the ability to mark comments as resolved (for example, to indicate that the proposed edit in a comment has been completed). Resolved comments can be shown with a special tag or hidden.
In addition, it is also highlighted that support for Microsoft Office documents in DOCX, PPTX and XLSX formats has been significantly improved, as well as improved performance when saving and opening spreadsheets with a large number of comments, styles, and change-tracking log entries.
Other changes that stand out from this new version of LibreOffice 6.4:

- Tools for organizing tables have been added to the Writer sidebar.
