The collective Emmabuntüs made the announcement of the launch of the new version of Linux distribution Emmabuntüs Debian Edition 3 1.0 which was released on September 16 of this year and is based on Debian 10.1.0 Buster and XFCE.
For those who do not know about this Linux distribution yet, I will tell you that Emmabuntüs is based on to two Linux distributions one that is Ubuntu and the other that is Debian, with which it tries to be an intuitive distribution with the beginner and also to be a light distribution in resources such that it can be used in old computers,
In the case of Ubuntu, Emmabuntüs is based on LTS versions. and it is usually updated each time its support ends, such is the case that the most current version is based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS that still has support.
In the case of Debian, Emmabuntüs is based on the stable versions to take the best of them and adapt them for easy computer overhaul donated to humanitarian organizations, starting with the communities of Emmaüs, where the name of the distribution obviously comes from.
This in order to promote the discovery of GNU / Linux by beginners, as well as to extend the life of the computer hardware to reduce waste induced by excessive consumption of raw materials.
This distribution was designed to facilitate the repackaging of computers donated to associations humanitarian organizations, including, initially, the Emmaus communities (hence the name).
The goal is to promote the discovery of GNU / Linux by beginners, extend the life of the equipment to finally reduce the waste associated with the excessive consumption of raw materials.

Main new features of Emmabuntüs Debian Edition 3 1.0
In this new version of the distribution the foundations of Emmabuntüs DE 2 were taken under Debian 10 Buster, besides that a significant decrease in image size also stands out system (taking as reference the Alpha and Beta versions of this branch)
Another of the outstanding changes in this new version is the streamlining of the present software as well as the improvements in the management of a dark and light theme.
Moreover I also know you can find improvements in live mode support, in the language section and localization, etc.
This final release provides UEFI Secure Boot Mode installation support in addition to a simplified installation through Calamares in live mode and use in VMware Workstation, as well as other improvements in terms of security and protection.
Finally developers comment that they intend to replace Emmabuntüs 3 version based on Ubuntu 14.04 since this will be obsolete:
We hope this new version will make it even easier to repackage associations used by Emmabuntüs and our friends JerryClan from France and Africa.
In particular, our friends from YovoTogo and JUMP Lab'Orione who run 17 computer rooms under Emmabuntüs in Togo, 12 of which are in secondary schools.
With this great collaboration, this allows us to train between 13,000 and 15,000 Togolese children each year, thanks to 10 computer animators who have been training in these institutions for a year.
This new version will eventually replace the Emmabuntüs 3 version based on Ubuntu 14.04 that was already obsolete and especially that this version is still in the first computer rooms installed in Togo by our friends YovoTogo and JUMP Lab'Orione.
