ReactOS 0.4.4: open-source Windows is renewed

ReactOS

We have already spoken numerous times about ReactOS, and the relationships it has had with other large projects that we know very well in the Linux world, such as Wine. In this case, it is not a Linux-based operating system, but a system created to be a clone compatible with Microsoft Windows software, and it is also open source. On this occasion we announce that the ReactOS 0.4.4 version has arrived.

The slow but safe development of ReactOS brings us some new features compared to the previous version. Now this version has arrived after a week of the last maintenance update on the stable 0.4 branch of ReactOS, with system improvements, better support for more applications, etc. Likewise, it looms ReactOS version 0.5 which is intended to bring us a similar look to Windwos Vista.

That will be thanks to msstyles, made possible by a contributor named Giannis. The developer community involved in the project is preparing for the release of 0.5 while for the moment we can enjoy this other previous version. We just have to go to the official website y download us free of charge the system image, which is quite small in size, and contrasts sharply with the size of Microsoft Windows versions.

Little more to add, only if you are a lover of free and open source software, but you need to make use of some application or video game compatible only for MS Windows, you can get ReactOS for it, although certain programs or video games may not work properly as with Wine. And I end with something that I always remember, it can be used as an object of study, since it is open source and you can investigate to know a little more about how Windows works.

ok probe open suse, ubuntu, mint and zorin and in all four cases to transfer 25000 photos from usb to images it takes 6 hours on average being that in windows it takes 10 to 12 minutes, I did something wrong to install or need some help ?????

      Why the question here?
Another thing you do not mention the versions of both the Linux and Windows systems. Also, I don't think that that amount of photos is passed by Windows at that speed. Also keep in mind if both the USB and the equipment to which you pass them are USB 3.0 because if they are different equipment and one has USB 2.0 there is no comparison. Or for example if you use teracopy with Windows.

You need to better explain the processor version and if the S: O. it is 32 or 64 bit.
With regard to processor I send you an example of comparisons although I do not know if they are the versions that you have.
With regard to the board you have to make sure to pass the 2 with the same USB, for example USB 2.0 in both or USB 3.X in both. USB 3.X are the blue ones. Also make sure to update both OS before copying anything.
And use the predefined copiers for each one of the OS, For example it does not work if you copy in Windows with Teracopy because it copies much faster.
      Eg comparative processors
