RaspEX Linux: a distro for the Raspberry Pi 3

The most famous among the many SBC (Single-Board Computer) boards that exist, the Raspberry Pi, reaches its version 3 and we are pleased to present a new Linux distribution specially designed for Raspberry Pi 3. It is called RaspEX and it joins the other existing distributions and the operating systems supported by the board to make it functional, and the truth is that the number of auxiliary projects attracted by the success of this cheap SBC have succeeded.

RaspEX is developed by Arne Exton and supports various hardware components for the new Raspberry Pi board. The new version of RaspEX that has been released also comes with some new features, and especially with bugs corrected compared to previous versions. In addition, Kodi has been integrated to have a good media center that will accompany other packages included by default such as Mozilla Firefox, VNC, and many other programs to create a complete environment.

In addition to the great novelty of Kodi, RaspEX has included a new Linux kernel and new functionalities. It is based, like Raspbian, on Debian (in its branch for ARM, obviously to work with the Raspi SoC), specifically Debian GNU / Linux 8.3 Jessie has been used as a development base and a kind of of mix, as we have already seen in other distros, with Ubuntu 15.10 WIly Werewolf, from which they also take something for the design of RaspEX.

Another novelty we have is the support for Bluetooth, which has been implemented for RaspEX in the latest build released. RaspEX works well on the Raspberry Pi 3 With an LXDE desktop environment, and as its developer suggests, the new version of the board is enough to move the system smoothly. Remember that the 3 is 10 times faster than the Pi 1, in addition to exceeding the performance of the Pi 50 by 2%.

    Good Morning.
What Linux operating system is recommended in RPi 3 to carry out motor and camera control projects and link it with Android?
Thank you very much for your attention.
