Raspberry Pi Foundation has launched a new official version of the operating system for the Raspi, it is about Raspbian OS. It now comes with improved support for the latest SBC, the Raspberry Pi 4. This new Raspbian OS image includes the rpi-eeprom tool, which will automatically update the SPI EEPROM from the new Raspberry Pi 4 board to the latest stable version. Of course, the kernel itself and the packages have been updated to newer versions. Now it comes powered by Linux kernel 4.19.75, and with Chromium 74, VLC 3.0.8, RealVNC 6.5.0, RealVNC Viewer 6.19.715, Mathematica 12.0.1, Scratch 3, Sonic Pi 3.1.0, NodeRED 0.20.8 , Thonny 3.2, and Adobe Flash Player 32.0.0.255.
As well Raspbian OS drivers have been improved 2019-09-26. Among the improved drivers are NTFS-3G for the famous Microsoft file system, and it has not been the only one, also for FKMS, Bluetooth, audio, support for improved multi-monitor configurations, other improvements related to monitors, etc. By the way, even the PCI utilities have been improved, Epiphany has been removed, and Leafpad has been replaced with Mousepad.
And of course, as is usual in most updates, too some bugs have been fixed. This has improved the reliability of the Raspbian operating system. Among the fixed errors are problems with handling of URLs in Terminal, octal values in SSIDs in the networking plugin, renaming of values in the progress bar when transferring files, the start menu on the wrong monitor, improvement in the integration of Xarchiver with the file manager, and other problems related to the disconnection of Bluetooth on x86 platforms, translations, etc.
