Raspberry Pi + Moodle = a cheap platform for e-learning

Moodle and Rasbian Logos

You already know it exists the Moodlebox as such, but you can create one yourself with a simple Raspberry Pi and installing the necessary Moodle software ... With the additional software we can add an administration tool with a simple graphical interface to easily configure and manage our Moodle server for e-learning or your own educational project. Especially interesting for all those professionals in the education sector who want to take your wisdom to all places.

It could be done with different versions of the famous SBC board, but it is advisable to use the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B with the Raspbian operating system or distribution installed, although we can also use another Linux distro for this board without problem. Obviously, other additional packages must be installed on it, the main one being the Moodle software. With that we have an open source, cheap and affordable and functional educational platform.

Cheap pedagogy thanks to the plate and to the Moodle educational project that is flawlessly developed and with more than 89.000 sites registered to have content from around the world, from schools, to military installations, universities, etc., to help educators create online learning communities, distance courses, classes and other very interesting learning projects as you may know.

And what exactly is Moodle? Well, it is an open source project to implement a learning management tool or LMCS for the free distribution of content through the network. It is written in PHP and JavaScript under the GPL license and was started by Martin Dougiamas. Always thinking of the new pedagogical era in which we live, that is, focused on e-learning and even b-learning (also called blended learning or blended learning).
