One of The Qt Company's developers, named Lars Knoll, has announced that the new version of the open source project Qt (under the GPL license) is now generally available. Specifically, it is the version Qt 5.10 that brings some news to be able to create graphics for applications for both GNU / Linux, such as macOS, Android and also for Microsoft Windows. And it has arrived six months after the last Qt 5.9 release of extended support, that is, LTS.

With this new branch they have been introduced deep changes and improvements that will continue to be developed with future updates. One of the most outstanding and important novelties is the introduction of Qt 3D Studio, a graphical editor that allows creating graphical user interfaces or GUI in three dimensions. Undoubtedly a huge change that can be easily enjoyed by all developers who want to use Qt as a basis for the graphical interfaces of applications. In addition Lars has confirmed that Qt 3D Studio will also work with Qt 5.9 ...

But this editor is not the only novelty, there are also other important ones such as the new functionalities included for Qt Core and Qt Widgets. And not only that, as usual there have also been some code improvements and bug fixes from previous versions. For example, now we can find a new plugin for Qt Quick, and other novelties to model our graphics easily with the fantastic Qt project. Qt Quick Controls 2 has also received two new styles, Imagine and Fusion, in addition to other changes to the menu bar and other tools.

Another of the new plugins is QPA with streaming support and a long list of major changes. Of course you will find it in various languages. If you are interested in downloading the binaries of this project and start using them, you can do it from this link where you will find Qt 5.10 and you can also get the IDE Qt Creator from this other link.
