Antergos has been updated to its new version 18.1

Antergos

Navigating distrowatch I have found great news and it is that the popular distribution based on Arch Linux "Antergos" has been updated to a new version reaching its version 18.1 with which most of the changes merely in this version are package updates.

For those who do not yet know Antergos I can only tell you that this is a Linux distribution based on Arch LinuxBy having this as a base, it takes several of its properties, among which it is a Rolling Release distribution.

On the other hand, the only thing that could stand out in this new update of Antergos 18.1 has been integrated into the Mate desk from your testing repository to your stable repository.

Now if you are interested in installing or testing Antergos 18.1 I must tell you that eThis distribution requires an internet connection forcibly since it has several layers of customization and downloads the necessary programs and configurations.

To download Antergos 18.1 we must go to its download section, the link is this.

Here we have two versions, no, it is not a 64 bit version and a 32 bit version, I must tell you that Arch Linux stopped supporting 32-bit systems so in Antergos it is logical that they also put it aside.

The two versions that you will find are the LIVE ISO and the MINIMAL, which in the first one has most of the default packages and is more complete, so it is recommended even for you to test the system without having to install it.

In the MINIMAL version they only add the essentials and it is focused on teams with few hardware resources.

For my part, I can say that Antergos is an excellent option to recommend for newbies and even users who think that Arch Linux is a difficult distribution.

Without a doubt, the best distro that exists (at least for me). I've been using it for over 3 years now: fast (very fast), flexible, stable, always up to date. It only comes with what you need (keeping the KISS spirit of Arch Linux). I have changed desktops several times, and with none I have had problems that have not been easily and quickly solved. Now I am using it with cinnamon (I have been using this desktop for a while) and no complaints ... I would dare to say that it works better in Antergos than in Mint
