Pop! _OS Linux enters its Beta version

Pop! _OS Linux by System76

Same day as Ubuntu 17.10 has entered Beta versionPop! _OS Linux has entered, an operating system created by System76 and based on Ubuntu 17.10 itself. This operating system has been created for use in System76 laptops. These laptops were built to carry Ubuntu, however they will now carry Pop! _OS Linux.

However, this does not mean that Pop! _OS Linux be exclusive to System76 laptops, but it can also be installed on any compatible computer, something that makes it a very important distribution to take into account.

This distribution is based entirely on Ubuntu 17.10, which will come out in a very short time too. Since Ubuntu 17.10 is still in its beta version, Pop! _OS Linux would be released right after this one, as they must be based on the final version of Ubuntu 17.10 to ensure stability.

This operating system, will also carry Gnome 3.26 as the main desktop, in addition to the Wayland graphical server, which is at the forefront of graphical servers for Linux. In addition, it will have pre-installed drivers to work on System76 computers, which will come with this distribution pre-installed. In addition, they will have their own application repositories, but they will still have access to the Ubuntu repositories in order to add all the additional applications that you want.

Of course, being a Beta version, there are still a lot of mistakes that still need to be remedied. First of all, Pop! _OS Linux does not fully support HiDPI displays, it has some bugs related to the Firefox browser, as well as bugs with Nvidia graphics. However, these issues are expected to be resolved throughout the month.

Beta version can be tested, downloading the image from here. However, the minimum requirements are high, requiring 2 GB of Ram to work, and like Ubuntu 17.10, it only works on 64-bit computers. Remember that it is a Beta version, so it is not recommended to use it in a work environment that contains important information, due to the bugs it may contain.
