Razer is a prestigious brand in terms of peripherals, especially keyboards, mice, and other controls for the gaming world. In addition to being supported in Linux, some simple configuration element was also needed to be able to optimize them to our needs, and for that they have launched this great GUI called Polychromatic to be able to configure all the peripherals of the Razer brand in our Linux distros.
The GUI allows a lot of configurations on the peripherals, and although it is a launch not official created by independent developers of Razer, it is a powerful and simple tool. Polychromatic 0.3.8 has already been released, with some improvements over previous releases. The project is young, but it is functional and it will surely help you a lot with your gadgets from the prestigious firm.
Polychromatic is simply a front-end, a GUI for Razer's drivers for the Linux kernel. As I say, it is not an official project, but there is nothing wrong with that. Between the options offered are those to configure numerous keyboards of the BlackWidow, DeathStalker, Chroma, Razer series, as well as DealthAdder, Firefly, Mamba, Naga mice, etc. And of course it is also possible to make configurations on other devices such as the Blade Pro, Razer Core, Kraken, Blade Stealth, etc.
For the Polychromatic installation, you can search for the package in the repositories of your favorite distribution, being able to use the necessary package management tools. Of course, previously you will have to have installed the official Razer drivers so it can work as it would not work with generic drivers. For more information you can consult the Github pages where to find the code of Razer Drivers y Polychromatic with what is necessary to download, as well as documentation or information on these projects ...
Y to enjoy of the new configurations with the new titles of games for Linux!
