Play Yu-Gi-Oh! on Linux with Ygo Pro

Joey-wheeler

On this occasion I will share with you some of my most precious hobbies, I will take the opportunity to teach you how to install YGO on our system. If you don't know the famous Yu-Gi-Oh! or you have not even known any of the Anime series that have been created for many years, you should give yourself the opportunity to know this great game.

I must comment that There is an Android version created directly by Konoami, but in this case we will do it directly in our system using another application created by third parties.

Although, why not use the version that Konoami gives us directly, it is not to belittle her but first It is because it is not updated to the latest game mode, which is the Links and on the other hand because from a personal point of view the development of the game is slow.

How to install YGO Pro on Linux?

The first point that I should mention is that the game at the moment is designed to be run on WindowsThere is a version for Linux and Mac OS but it is only up to the Pendulum, so the new expansion of Links is currently for Windows.

In my case, it doesn't represent any inconvenience to me having to run it with Crossover even though we can also use Wine for this task.

Here It is your choice that you use to be able to run YGO Pro under your distribution yes with CrossOver, Wine or PlayOnLinux, I leave you the links on how to install the last two.

Immediately after we must download some YGO Pro packages, the first will be to download the game, because the person I know is in charge of translating it into Spanish asks us to respect its links, I leave you in the link of his blog where he shares his work for everyone, the link is this.

You must create an account on Discord since it has a channel where, it keeps the followers of its work updated and this is where it shares the link every time it updates the version.

Having already created our Discord account and having joined the channel, We go to the download section where we find the version for Windows and Android with language in English and Spanish respectively translated.

In our case we will download the version for windows the language you choose is on your choice, we need to download these packages:

  • YGOPro Percy 1.034.0 Beta | Windows
  • YGOPro IA 1.034.1
  • DLL
  • PICS CARDS LQ

Once all this has been downloaded, we proceed to decompress each file to have these folders in a final way.

Downloaded folders

All we have to do is copy all the folders and files from YGOPro IA 1.034.1, DLL, PICS CARDS LQ inside the folder YGOPro Percy 1.034.0 Beta | Windows.

Once the process is finished, we proceed to run the game, we must execute the file YGOProES.exe found inside the YGOPro Percy 1.034.0 Beta | Windows.

With CrossOver we only secondary click on the file and click on "Open with> CrossOver Run" since we do not have the need to perform any installation.

In the case of PlayOnLinux we must create a bottle and then proceed to execute the file.

And finally, in the case of Wine, we can execute it by double clicking on it or from the terminal with the following command:

Wine YGOProES.exe

For any of the cases we just have to wait and the following will appear:

  • Lan Mode
  • Single player
  • Watch Replay
  • Deck Edit
  • Exit

YGO Pro

The first option is to play online against an opponent who connects to the same server.

lanmode

The second is to play against an artificial intelligence

The third option is to see the replays of your saved duels.

The fourth is very important since here you will have the possibility of being able to edit your deck, create a new one or delete it, with access to all the currently existing cards and to be released soon.

The last one is to exit the game.

Finally, I only have to add that it is an excellent option to be able to test your deck against opponents around the world in addition to being able to improve your skills and polish your deck. For me it is an excellent option because it helps me a lot to know which cards I should buy and avoid unnecessary expenses.

For those who are fans of this game you can find me as Darkcrizt, I usually play with D / D / D, Destiny Hero, Raidraptor or X-Saber even though I will rarely find myself trying any other archetype, but as I comment, those are the decks that I use and that I have the letters in physical format.
