Plasma 5.9 will arrive within a month to our systems

As it has been known recently, the KDE team is already working on the new version of KDE, Plasma 5.9 And not only is it being worked on but it is also about to be released, specifically, it will be ready for our teams on January 31st, just one month from today.

About the news that Plasma 5.9 will have we do not know much, but there are elements that we know will be improved such as support for graphical servers or the recovery of old elements.

From what we've heard from some developers, Plasma 5.9 will incorporate support for Wayland and other graphic servers like MIR or Xorg, but also old items will be included like the global menu that was lost in the current version and that some users are asking for.

KDE Plasma 5.9 will be distributed in snap format to the surprise of many

This new version of the popular desktop will be distributed in new formats, not only in the traditional deb and rpm packages but also in the recent formats, that means that Plasma 5.9 will have a snap package to be able to install in any distribution without any problem.. Something that has surprised many because it seems that Plasma will arrive first to Snap than to Flatpak.

According to the development calendar, the final version will be available on January 31, but first, on January 12 we will have in our hands the first beta, a version that cannot be used in production equipment but can be used to find out what is new in this new version of the most popular Gnu desktop Linux.

Personally I am using Plasma 5.8 and it seems like a good desktop, a desktop that left behind the consumption of system resources. Surely Plasma 5.9 will improve this, so it might be a good occasion to give this desktop a second chance Do not you think?

I am delighted with Plasma, it seems to me simply the best.

The truth is, the desktop is very good, it hurts that with 4K screens they leave a lot to be desired, they are not yet there.

    Greetings.
