The PINE64 PinePhone is real and will be shipping very soon

Real pinephone

If you are looking for an alternative to Android or the iPhone, this news interests you: as explains us PINE64 and KDE Community has shared in social networks, the PinePhone will be available shortly. If this is the first time you read about this terminal, you have to know that it uses an operating system based on KDE software called postmarketOS.

After the development and testing cycles, PINE64 decided to build a few units for developers and planned a larger run for early adopters who want to buy this terminal. Lucky non-developers will be able to get a PinePhone at the end of this year. As for the developers, they will be able to buy the first terminal with Plasma Mobile this month.

PinePhone in action

As you can see in the previous video-presentation, the user interface of Plasma Mobile on the PinePhone it is similar to what we see in operating systems like Kubuntu or KDE neon. Users of operating systems with a graphical Plasma environment will instantly recognize icons and applications such as Okular. But, still looking a lot like Plasma Desktop, Plasma Mobile has nuances or traits of a mobile operating system, since that's exactly what it is. All the drivers who uses the PineBook are open source, which is one of the reasons why a user would opt for such a terminal and not for others such as those developed by Apple or Google.

If I have to be honest, in the presentation video I see lights and shadows. On the one hand, we have a very versatile and attractive graphical environment that often works smoothly, but on the other hand we have that it sometimes works with some "lag". It is true that we are talking about a first version that has not yet been released to the public, but the demo could have been better.

Will you buy the PinePhone when it goes on sale?

I've been using Ubuntu Touch for 3 years, first from "Canonical" (who left the project, by the way, who knows if the big guys dropped money or, who knows ... if it doesn't suit the system) ... Then with UbPorts ... I'm happy, no I use Güasap, nor Telegräm, nor pickled dicks, nor do I need to… When I want to call, I call, when they call me, if I want to, but, no… And so happy… A picture of the supermarket comes in handy, huh! Esque is an offer! What do I care? I prefer to go down to the market, super or hypermarket, take a walk and not for me but, perhaps for those who are reading me, lose sight of the hysterical fart for a while;)… well who knows if I am a woman, eh? lest they call me a feminist: D haha, joke… Well think about the system that they put you in, and those of you who were already born with this system, forget about my comment, it doesn't exist…: D ah! if you're curious, a subliminal message ... 11 .. that's it ...
