Phoenix collects the RemixOS baton for our computers

Phoenix Desk

Last week we heard the unpleasant news of the end of RemixOS development as an operating system for the general public. This limited the possibilities of having Android on our computer. However, it seems that the community has not given up and has chosen another Android distribution for their computers.

The winner is called Phoenix, a version of Android optimized with the Linux kernel and a lot of Gnu / Linux software that makes us have a complete operating system based on the latest version of Android, Android Nougat.

Phoenix is a version that With the base and compatibility of Android, add a launcher, a file manager, a window interface for your applications and an improvement when working with a physical mouse and keyboard. It also has a notification center that alerts us to messages, alarms, etc ...

Since it was introduced last year, Phoenix has improved dramatically, boasting a large community and a greater number of devices. Phoenix not only supports 32-bit and 64-bit computers, it is also compatible with various tablets that support Nexus and soon it will be Raspberry Pi who will be on that list.

On the other hand, unlike other versions of Android for desktop, Phoenix is compatible with WindowsIn other words, it has an installer, something practical for users who are new to installing operating systems. The Phoenix installation image can be obtained from the official page of the project.

Phoenix has evolved a lot and in part it has been thanks to Free Software and the development of Android, which on the other hand is based on the Linux kernel. That is why if we look for apps like those of the smartphone, Phoenix is a great option for our computer, although we have to say that not all Android apps are optimized for the computer screen, so we will have the odd stumble with an app that we use.

    Tablets that support Nexus?
Do you allow to embed a Nexus 6P in the tablet, or ...?
I don't know what this means.
It is not clear, either, if the apps that can run on this operating system are those of the Google Play Store or not.
