In connection with the upcoming plans to make Parrot a general distribution (prepared by Parro Home), which is not limited to security testing, it was decided to change the main project site from parrotsec.org to parrotlinux.org.

The project is also preparing to create an LTS branch, so the current repository has been renamed from "stable" to "rolling" (for users, the transition is transparent and does not require manual changes).

On the other hand yeah You already have a version of Parrot OS from branch 4.x, you can update your system without having to reinstall it on your computer.

To do this you simply have to open a terminal and in it execute the following commands:

sudo parrot-upgrade

Or you can use these:

sudo apt update

sudo apt full-upgrade

This process will take a little time since you have to download all the packages first and then update them. So you can take a moment to relax.

At the end of the process, you just have to restart your computer so that all the changes are saved and you can start your system with all the updated packages and the new Linux Kernel of this version of Parrot OS 4.7.

To verify that you already have the new kernel, just type in the terminal:

uname -r
