Tras Debian 7.0 (Wheezy) already in use, now we have to wait a few months for the release of Debian 8.0, which is currently under development. We already know that Debian 8 "Jessie" It will come with Linux kernel 3.16 and with a very hard development behind it, as the community of developers of this project is accustomed to.
In the meantime we have to be content with the numerous Debian 7.0 updates that have appeared (7.1, 7.6,…). But Debian Project announces the future codenames for the Debian 9 and Debian 10 versions, for which we will have to wait quite a while.
Well, it has been decided that the "code names" for these future versions of Debian are "Stretch" and "Buster", for Debian 9.0 and Debian 10.0 respectively. And for the sake of Debian users and derived distros, like Ubuntu, we all hope that regardless of the names, they are good systems as usual ...
