More details on the JingPad A1 are released, such as when it will be available for purchase

The future is ARM. And I will not say that it is Linux, because we have already seen that it is something that is said every year and it never takes off as expected, but it is for users like me, for whom, in fact, it is also past and present. It will also be so for many in terms of tablets, something that will be a reality thanks to projects such as PINE64 or the jing pad a1, tablet that will carry JingOS as an operating system.

Until now we only knew that JingOS was working on a tablet that would carry its operating system and the hardware that it would mount, although PINE64 has taught us that, in such immature devices, everything can change before its official launch. For a few hours, the team of developers, more specifically Liu, who is like the Community Manager, has released more details, specifically the Roadmap and the dates in which they will be taking steps.

Roadmap for the arrival of the JingPad A1

  • May 31: first physical video-review made by the JingPad team.
  • June 11: First videos of the tablet by third YouTubers in English and Chinese, but without keyboard-trackpad.
  • June 15: the crowdfunding campaign begins.
  • June 25: video reviews by YouTubers, but this time with the keyboard-trackpad.
  • 17 July: smoke tests. These types of tests are done to verify that the software will work well on the hardware on which it is installed.
  • August 10: The first 100 tablets will be shipped to the first users.
  • August 20: 300 more to be shipped.
  • September 7: Mass shipping will begin.

In the list above you miss seeing a price. I would dare to say that it will cost something (quite) more than the PineTab for a couple of reasons: the PINE64 tablet is all open source, so you have to pay 0 licenses. On the other hand, hardware is way over the top, starting with the Gorilla Glass, going through the much higher resolution screen and ending with its cameras. In fact, I have very much summarized what is in the Presentation page of the JingPad A1.

In any case, we already know that the August 10 will begin shipping, so we'll know more in the summer, and I think I want one.
