A priori it will seem strange to you that in Linux Addicts we are talking about Microsoft and Windows 10, however today we are going to do it since han improved Ubuntu Bash console in the latest Windows 10 update.
The Ubuntu Bash console is a feature that Windows 10 brought, which allows to run an Ubuntu console natively on Windows, with a complete Ubuntu operating system within Windows (only by commands). This was born due to a collaboration between Canonical and Microsoft in which Canonical allows the use of its console in Windows 10.
This update brings amount of errors corrected in the console, as for example the correction of a problem that had with the installation, an improvement of the Chmod command and that now the connection with localhost and with the ip 0.0.0.0 is allowed among many others.
I think this collaboration between Canonical and Microsoft on the Ubuntu Bash console is a good idea. We all know that Linux console is much more powerful than Window consoles and that Microsoft allows a non-Microsoft console to be used will allow us to get much more out of our computer.
Among the utilities that this console has we have the power to install almost all apt packages on Windows. Thanks to this, we will be able to use certain programs only available for Linux.
I have also seen how some people have been able to install graphical Linux applications on Windows even though it is not natively supported. They have done thanks to the installation of a windows server in the background, such as Vcxsrv.
If you use Windows 10 and want to try this, you have to go to tweaks / security and updates / for developers and there activate the option Linux Subsystem for Windows. Once we accept, the computer will be restarted and we will only have to open a Windows console, write Bash, accept the contract and wait for it to be completely downloaded and installed on our computer.
ok
If this is so, I will take advantage of my improved command console and implement it also in windows called manager - ((jou)) operations manager.
Will an apt-get remove windows command be available? : D
