Manjaro Linux 16.06 available to update

linux manjaro 16.06

Few hours ago it was released the official version of Manjaro Linux 16.06, a distro that over time has managed to consolidate itself among the most popular in the universe GNU / Linux from several interesting aspects and above all very well combined with each other. For those who do not know it, say that it is a Arch Linux based distro and its Pacman package manager, although using its own repositories (that is, maintaining full compatibility with Arch's) and adding very good multimedia support, especially in terms of driver implementation.

It is therefore a distro that generally comes in 2 different 'flavors': XFCE, the default desktop, and KDE. And in both can be seen a delicate work to maintain the agility that they have always offered, thus achieving a homogeneity that many distros envy and to which it owes part of its success. In the default variant of Manjaro they bring us XFCE4.12 and not a newer one, something that they have justified in the stability achieved and in the fact that they have added several features and improvements. In the KDE variant they arrive with Plasma 5.6 with the Maia theme and with KDE Applications 16.04.

Then, already going to the core of Manjaro, they bring us the Linux kernel 4.4 LTS with all the most recently added drivers, and in this section it is well worth remembering that we have a very wide number of possibilities, which we can select at the time of installation through MSM (Manjaro Settings Manager. They have updated Pacmac 4.1 (the graphical tool for package installation) to the CSD layout and have added certain features (dependency display, progress bar to see the status of an installation or a terminal view).

For those who do not know this excellent distro we can not say anything else but simply encourage them to try it, and for those who are already users invite them to upgrade to Manjaro Linux 16.06 to be up to date (remember that it is a distro 'rolling release').
