Manjaro KDE 17, a new version of the popular rolling release based on Arch Linux, was released yesterday. The new version takes the best of Manjaro but with the KDE desktop as the default desktop, which makes Manjaro KDE 17 one of the most beautiful flavors of Manjaro.

This new version of Manjaro has been baptized as Gellivara, a nickname that continues the letters of the alphabet like other distributions like Ubuntu do.
Manjaro KDE 17 has KDE Plasma 5.9.3, along with KDE Applications 16.02 and the Linux kernel 4.9. This kernel will only be something temporary since there is already talk of the arrival of the new kernel 4.10 to the distribution to take advantage of all the news that the latest version of the kernel provides to distributions.

Manjaro KDE 17 has improved the distribution kernel update process

This aspect has been extensively worked on by the Manjaro team, with changes to the Manjaro Settings Manager tool to make installing and updating the kernel an easier task for novice users. Being thus possible that user update kernel not only to 4.10 but also to future 4.11 and below.

Along with Plasma and kernel 4.9, Manjaro KDE 17 has Xorg-Stack version 1.19 and Manjaro's custom tools have been improved in order to correct bugs and improve the user experience. The artwork of the distribution has also been improved, with some changes that notably improve the look & feel of KDE and Manjaro.

If you have Manjaro in your team, you just have to update the distribution through its tools. However, if you want to try the new version, you can download Manjaro KDE 17 from this link. Manjaro does not have the best KDE compilation but it is a light and powerful distribution that has made more and more users change their operating system for Manjaro And what do you choose?

A question how do you see the performance of Linux Mint With KDE vs Manjaro KDE, I am about to install one of those 2 distributions to test KDE that catches my attention.

Linux Mint KDE is heavier because it starts with the Akonadi processes more with the Linux Mint update and upload manager (mintupdate and mintupload) so it reaches around 700MB of Ram at startup, the good thing is that these processes they can be "killed" without problems

Linux Mint is excellent for beginners and also for advanced users who like a well-equipped desktop. I also use several. Black Arch has 4 different color terminals on a single screen for DDoS Attacks is ideal.- Greetings MiltonLat….
