Manjaro 2022-07-21 and 2022-07-18, two minor updates that have arrived three days apart

manjaro 2022-07-21

Last monday we had new Manjaro stable update, but it was a minor one to the point that we decided to "move" on it. Three days later, Phil, who usually does, posted in its official forum another stable update, manjaro 2022-07-21, and this one, although it is not very big either (in the KDE edition it has slightly exceeded 30 packages), it has included at least one point of relative importance for part of the community: they have mentioned many improvements for a desktop.

Considering the number of points mentioned in Manjaro 2022-07-21, it didn't seem like a bad idea not to cover all Manjaro stable releases to either wait for something bigger or to bundle several into one article. Only four points have been highlighted in today's update, including that Cinnamon 5.4 has received many new features. The other three are very general, but we are going to unite them with those of the past day 18.

Combined Manjaro News 2022-07-21 and 2022-07-18

  • 2022-07-21
    • The series Cinnamon 5.4 has received many updates.
    • Game-Addons for Kodi got a makeover.
    • Pipewire 0.3.56 brings more regression fixes.
    • Regular KDE-git, Haskell and Python updates
  • 2022-07-18:
    • Some of the kernels have been updated.
    • Plasma Mobile Gear has been renewed to 22.06.
    • Linux firmware has been updated.
    • WINE 7.13.
    • Pipewire was updated to 0.3.55.
    • Xorg-Server 13 and XWayland got necessary security fixes.
    • More GNOME 42.3 packages added.
    • Regular Haskell and Python updates

both updates are already available from Pacman or Pamac, and, as always, it can be updated from the same operating system. In some cases, such as KDE, the update is so small that you don't even need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect. With two updates in three days, we can't say that its developers are sleeping, something that has been assured in its forum for not having already uploaded Plasma 5.25. KDE's not-so-new graphical environment will arrive in a few weeks, coinciding with the release of Manjaro 22.0.
