LXQt 0.14 with split view for file manager is here

LXQt 0.14.0

The development team behind LXQt (Lightweight Qt Desktop Environment) has released a new maintenance update that is closer to the release of version 1.0.

LXQt 0.14.0 is the latest stable version of the Lightweight Qt desktop environment which continues the legacy of the LXDE (Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment) project based on the latest Qt technologies.

This release comes eight months after LXQt 0.13.0 and adds a new layer of optimization and enhancements.

Among the most interesting new features of LXQt is the split view in the PCManFM-Qt file manager, a port of the PCManFM file manager used in LXDE, as well as better handling for external and desktop devices. The desktop can now display the icons for Computer, Recycle Bin, Network, and home directory.

Of course, the Recycle Bin icon is interactive and through it you can empty the trash or restore files if you have deleted it by accident. LXQt 0.14.0 adds support for render EXIF and imgBB image data as a new loading target for the LxImage-Qt image viewer, a change for history-based tabs, and custom margins for QTerminal.

Many dependencies have changed with the release of LXQt 0.14.0. what requires C ++ ISO Standard 14, lxqt-build-tools 0.6.0, and cmake 3.1.0 or higher. Many of the essential packages have received updates and all translations have been pushed to their respective repositories.

If you want to download LXQT 0.14.0 you can do it using this link if you want to compile it right now, or you can wait for it to arrive at the repository of your Linux distribution. The LXQt development team continues to work on LXQt 1.0.0 which will arrive sometime this year with improvements and new features.
