Linux is the most used to carry out DDoS attacks

DDoS attacks are mostly carried out from botnets with linux servers. At least that's what Kaspersky says about it in its latest report

Recently a Kaspersky lab report was published about denial of service or DDoS attacks. This report indicated that most of the attacks were carried out through linux-based systems.

Those that carry out DDoS attacks are specifically linux servers, which have been included in a botnet. A botnet is a set of zombie computers controlled against their will invisibly. Whoever is in control of the botnet can use the computers that are part of it to carry out malicious actions.

The reason why linux servers are the main members of botnets targeted for DDoS attacks is that there is little security. According to the people of Kaspersky, this occurs because there is no specific security solution (antivirus) for Linux.

A DDoS attack it is an attack made to "bring down" a server. The attacker sends millions of requests to the server (usually with the help of a botnet), which causes the server to collapse by not being able to attend so many requests and therefore, it crashes.

DDoS attacks from linux servers are more effective than from a conventional computer botnet. The reason is that linux servers are more powerful and therefore can send more requests per minute and pull the server faster and longer.

The report says more interesting things about these attacks. For example, it indicates that they have increased in recent years and that 77% of attacks are against China, being also on the list of countries most attacked by DDoS world powers such as France and the Netherlands.

This article has to make us think, since although it seems that the kaspersky report is something intended more to sell antivirus than to tell the truth, it is true that he is partially right. I hope this news haga react companies and improve security in this regard.

It is not surprising that in the field of GNU / Linux servers it is the most popular operating system. Well, 497 of the 500 super computers in the world use GNU / Linux. (Those three that remain I do not know if they will be windows or what they will be)

PS: I continue to encourage you to write the name of the operating system properly. It's called GNU / Linux.

Fake news from kaspersky, as is customary in them, to sell more antivirus.
What will one thing have to do with another?
No matter how much antivirus I have, I can install a program and run it quietly, that program will tell me the temperature in my area, show a calculator or make requests to another server, as is the case.

The other 3 are UNIX, "father" of linux.
