And the moment of truth is approaching. ISO images can now be downloaded from Linux Mint 21 Beta. At the time of writing this article, Clem Lefebvre and his team have not made it official, but they have uploaded them to their servers. It is common practice to upload something before announcing its availability, and it is done to avoid surprises. Only bigger companies that in theory have everything under control, and want to increase the “hype”, publish them on the same day.
But let's focus on the news. In the next few hours, or tomorrow or the day after, an article will be published saying that the Linux Mint 21 Beta can already be tested. In that article, which will actually be three, we will talk about the new features that will come along with these betas, which will in turn be what will be included in the stable version. When the time comes, everything they publish will be official, but we already know many of the news that will come along with Vanessa.
Some of what's new in Linux Mint 21 Beta
Among the novelties that will arrive together with this version, it stands out that the main flavor will use Cinnamon 5.4. It is the Mint project that develops and maintains this desktop, and releases new versions taking into account that they have to add it in the next installment of the operating system. The code name will be Vanessa, And it will be based on Ubuntu 22.04.
One of the great things about Linux Mint is that they do what they think is best. If Canonical decides to add something controversial or bad or remove something useful, Clem and his team don't adopt it or add it on their own. vanessa will not use system-oomd, a novelty designed to better manage resources that has not turned out as well as expected. On the other hand, they will use Blueman to manage Bluetooth connections, and Timeshift becomes part of your suite of applications.
Images are available on the three common desktops, and can be downloaded by clicking one of the following buttons:
There are gnome apps 41-42 .. maybe it's due to Muffin rebase and compatibility

I clicked on some ads to help them with advertising
Could this beta be installed now or would it be very different from the final stable one?
I need to format the computer and I don't know whether to install now or wait for stable.
Thank you.
