Linux Mint 21.1 continues with its plan to arrive at Christmas

Linux Mint 21.1

The monthly newsletter for September gave us an open secret, something that happens every year: Linux Mint 21.1 It would arrive at Christmas. It's always been that way, so the real news will break when the latest October-based mint-flavored Linux version of Ubuntu doesn't arrive on those deadlines. clem lefebvre posted your monthly note for November a few moments ago, and it was a fairly short one.

But everything has an explanation, or at least in theory. Clem has wanted to waste little time on a note in which he does not have much to say, beyond that They are very close to launching the Beta from Linux Mint 21.1. He also mentions again that the stable version will arrive for Christmas, and that they are in a bit of a rush to meet the deadlines.

Linux Mint 21.1 will have the codename of Vera

Linux Mint 21.1 hit QA yesterday. A bug in Launchpad prevents us from accessing some of our translations. We are also chasing down some bugs related to packagekit and aptdaemon, but we expect these to be fixed fairly quickly.

It seems like, they are running into some bugs, several of them related to packagekit and aptdaemon. Clem hopes to fix them all soon, as the beta should be out sometime next week if they want "Vera" to be available by Christmas. Taking into account that the celebrations can start in November (Thanksgiving, USA) and extend until January 6 (Three Kings in countries like Spain), nothing that falls outside of those dates could be considered a delay, although it all depends on whatever Clem has in mind.

Linux Mint 21.1 reach with the code name of "Vera", and will do so with image changes. The most striking will be that they will no longer be on the desktop by default My Computer, the personal folder, the trash and networks.
