Linux Mint 20.3 will have the code name of «Una» and we will be able to download it from the new web already available

Linux Mint 20.3 can be downloaded from the new website

It's been a couple of months since it was confirmed that, as in previous years, Linux Mint 20.3 would arrive for christmas. It was the moment in which Clament Lefebvre told us that they had started with their development, and a month later we began to know some details, such as that they were preparing tweaks in your user interface. This afternoon, the team leader of the mint-flavored Linux operating system told us something else, such as the codename that the new version will use.

Linux Mint 20.3 will have the codename of 'Una'. As we already advanced in August, it will arrive for Christmas, and it will do so again in Cinnamon flavors (the main one), MATE and Xfce. They are also working on LMDE 5, the version based directly on Debian, which will use the codename "Elsie". The fifth version of LMDE will be based on Bullseye, will be released with Cinnamon graphical environment and will support amd64 and i386.

Linux Mint 20.3 will arrive again for Christmas

As for other new features, Clem says they are going to focus more on imagery to give the operating system a more modern look. For example, they want to do the largest title bars, with the buttons also larger to make it more pleasant to see and easier to click on certain points.

One change that some may like less is that will remove some accent or accent colors and they will add some gray in the shadows. Small widgets such as sliders, checkboxes, spokes, and close button will still provide the highlight color, while the rest of the theme will take a step back and look more neutral than before. On the other hand, they continue to work on supporting applications for dark themes.

The web page is already finished

Something they also told us about months ago was the website they were working on. Clem says it took longer than expected, but the result has satisfied them. Available in this link, we can see how everything looks more modern, but we can also see, or not see, depending on how you look at it, that they have removed the ads to give a more serious impression.

So when Linux Mint 20.3 "Una" reaches its stable version, we will be able to download it from the new website. Renewed or die.

I have been using LinuxMint as my main system for about 7 years at work, home and on the go.
I always recommend it and try to assist those who want to try it.
It is a pity that the LinuxMint website is still only in English, this is a barrier for Spanish speakers and in this way makes it difficult to spread the OS. Of course it can be translated but imagine a newbie who only speaks / reads Spanish or whatever language it is.

I usually see your articles on Telegram. Congratulations on your work linuxadictos.com!

    Regards!

Thanks for bringing the news of my favorite distro, something important that I need to mention is that the current theme will be left in the repositories, for whoever wants to return to the previous one can do it, as they explain the theme they are developing improves concentration for productivity or so they say ... I am not completely convinced but hey will have to try it when it is finished, I still do not close myself to the changes.

The website looks very good, even though I will miss the previous one, removing the publication I hope it is a success ... for my part I liked to enter and click on them to help them $ I still leave goduckgo or yahoo as a search engine In firefox to generate some profit with it, and finally, well that they are already working on the new lmde 5 I hope it will be a nice Christmas, for all of us who like this minty distro: 3
