Much is being said about the next version of Linux Mint but it is true that until recently, nobody knew the exact date of the Linux Mint 19 launch. It is through the Hardware that we have known the approximate date (as it is not official) of Linux Mint release 19.
A few days ago it was reported that Linux Mint 19 would bring with it a new Mint Box Mini, a small desktop computer that comes with Linux Mint by default. The new version of this computer will have Linux Mint 19 by default, which means that before the launch of this minicomputer the new version of Linux Mint will have been launched.
MintBox Mini 2 It is a minicomputer that will have an Intel Celeron processor, 4 Gb of ram memory, 120 Gb of internal storage, dual band Wifi, bluetooth, usb ports, HDMI port and an Ethernet port. There will be a pro version that will consist of doubling the ram memory and the hard disk storage. This minicomputer will be able to reach 85º C without the need for extra cooling and will be distributed by a relatively low price: $ 299.
This new minicomputer will begin to be distributed at the beginning of June, which confirms that after this date there will not be Linux Mint 19 but before or with the launch of the new minicomputer.
Generally, Gnu / linux does not have much support from large hardware companies, so it is interesting and striking that a computer manufacturer is committed to Linux and confidence is renewed with new models. MintBox was one of the pioneering computers in this aspect that made companies like Slimbook or Vant launch their bets related to the world of the penguin and that they are having so much success.
MintBox Mini 2 is an interesting and attractive device for those who looking to have a desktop computer compatible with Gnu / Linux and with an affordable price. Although you will have to wait a few more months to get one of these devices.
Good news, I started with Linux Mint 18.2 (because I did not want to go from windows 7 to windows 10), I continue with Linux Mint 18.3 and I like it, I hope Linux Mint 19 will be even better :)
Linux Mint, simple but thick :)
