LibreOffice 6.4.4 now available, without notable news but improving stability and reliability

LibreOffice 6.4.4

Five weeks after earlier version and continuing with its programming, The Document Foundation has launched another point update of its office suite. Is about LibreOffice 6.4.4, the fourth maintenance update in this series that continues to correct bugs to become the version recommended by the project for production teams. And we remember that there are at least two options available and, currently, the one recommended for teams whose work is important is still v6.3.6 released the first day of this month.

LibreOffice 6.4.x is still treated as the version for which we want all the news. The Document Foundation does not recommend a new series until it has received at least 5 maintenance updates, which means that it will be when the next installment is released that they recommend series 6.4 for those of us who do important work and want to work in complete safety. And, although the most up-to-date option includes more news, it also includes more bugs because it is less proven.

LibreOffice 6.4.5 is coming in five weeks

LibreOffice 6.4.4 It is now available from the official website of the project, which we can access from this link. Linux users have it available in DEB, RPM or binary packages. In the next few hours they will add the new version to Flatub (Flatpak) already Snapcraft (Snap). Those of us who use the version of the official repositories of some distribution, we will still have to wait a few days for the update to appear.

On the other hand, The Document Foundation is already working on LibreOffice 7, which will be a very important update that will introduce new features such as improved file support or the complete elimination of Flash in the whole set of applications. Interested users can install the pre-release version of LibreOffice 7 from the package already available at this link. The final and stable version will arrive already in August.
