LibreOffice 5.2.7 will be the last version of LibreOffice 5.2.X

LibreOffice 5.2

After the release of LibreOffice 5.3 last day 2, it is time to say goodbye to the previous version, version 5.2. Today the last revision of this version has come out, being 5.2.7 the last version that will carry the number 2 behind the 5 in LibreOffice.

LibreOffice 5.2.7 users they will be able to enjoy the support until June 4, that is, they have less than a month of support left with this version. After that day they will have to update their version of LibreOffice to version 5.3 and to the versions that come out later.

What's new in version 5.2.7 with respect to 5.2.6 it is simply the correction of bugs found in previous versions. In total, about 43 bugs have been reported, which have been corrected for this new version.

These failures have not been corrected overnightInstead, 2 candidate versions have been necessary to correct all these bugs that had been detected, which will be the last bugs resolved in the 5.2.X series.

When a version is no longer supported, detected failures, bugs and security problems are also stopped being corrected. For this reason, you should never work in an important work environment, as a failure could cause you to lose an important job or could compromise the safety of your equipment.

By the time June 4 comes, I recommend updating to the latest version of LibreOffice, which has some important new features and is the best version of LibreOffice to date. At the moment the latest version is 5.3, although new versions could come out in a month. Whatever happens, we will keep you posted on the web as usual.

To download this latest version, search the repositories of your favorite distribution, since it was already included. If you have version 5.2.6 or earlier, you can directly update the application to this latest version of this series.

the new versions not only correct bugs but also introduce new functionalities…. but not using the last update does not imply more danger for your work than using this one, nothing to do, you can keep your work without any problem….

I agree with PE, if the applications need constant updates to operate with security and confidence ... then from the first installation of said application it would be a fraud .. the initial launch of any application (not beta phase) is in itself a guarantee of operability. My humble opinion..

It is a guarantee of operability until security gaps are discovered that may compromise it. That's why updates are important.
