I have been following this project for 2 years, and I have reserved the equipment for almost 9 months, I know that going from an S8 Plus to this thing will be horrible, that it will fail, that it will have some engineering problem and I won't even tell you about the software but .. It does not matter, I do not want to carry a thing with 1000 sensors on top that I do not control and they do nothing but generate datalogs of my life constantly.

I imagine that you do not want any of the apps that Google play, and that all your people use telegram instead of WhatsApp ……

It is a breakthrough, a big one. I would like to have one and feel "free" from the big G and so on…. but at the same time I see it as an object of «freakism», pure and simple.
The price limits it excessively, even more than the apps that you lose.

The way is to release linux mobile (with its variants) for existing models, like the roms let's say.

Uff for that price I prefer to collaborate by buying a Fairphone. Is that in the absence of seeing how it performs, a processor used in ebooks, remote controls or mp4 players does little to me. The screen with only HD resolution is passable due to the size of the 5,7-inch panel, in fact the Xiaomi Mi A3, which has just come out, also has that resolution and is 6 inches. What strikes me as an insult for that price is that the memory is of the eMMC type, the slowest on the market. 3- and 4-year-old phones are much better than this "new" phone. Now, I have not read about the project, but maybe the most demanding application that this Librem has is the GPS navigator. And then you understand the reason for so much austerity although I cannot understand why the price is so close to that of the OnePlus 7 Pro that in characteristics is like another galaxy. With these characteristics, the price should be € 490 to make it more interesting to the public and still have a profit margin, but for $ 649 it gives me that it will not go very far.
