Laby: and that the little ones learn to program

laby

There are more and more projects aimed at teaching us all to program, especially the little ones or those who have no prior notions of programming. We have already described some very important examples here, such as Scratch. Well then, laby is another of those packages that will introduce children to programming in a very simple and easy way with the game.

The small game consists of directing a little bug across the screen until you exit through a door. To carry out the movements or actions, the user must write a series of lines of code with the actions to be carried out. The syntax can be like the C language, Python, Ruby or Java.

Every action that the little insect can do corresponds to a functionBy completing the script or program with the necessary functions to get out of the maze, you will be able to overcome the challenge. You can use the execute button to start the program and go step by step in the execution of the code to see how the insect reacts with the functions that you have dedicated.

If you are interested in Laby and you have Ubuntu, you can search for it directly in the Software Center or install it from the terminal. Another option is to go to the page of this open source project at GitHub. Now, do not expect miracles, their level is quite basic, but for a child to start it is fine ...
