About 48 hours ago, KDE Community He launched an update of Krita, version v4.2.4 that arrived to correct a total of 16 bugs. In the release note they told us there were more fixes on the way, but what we didn't know is some of them would be coming so soon. From what it seems, its developers have released an update, we deduce from its speed, "emergency" to solve a bug that they have not wanted to keep for a longer time, so a few moments ago have released Krita 4.2.5.
As we read in the release note, have realized that the previous version of Krita still had a bug when managing shortcuts when some tools were active. The team of developers of the "from cartoonists for cartoonists" program has worked as fast as they could to fix the bug as soon as possible, so they have already released a version that was scheduled for August 14.
Bug fixes in Krita 4.2.5
Krita developers have taken advantage of the launch to also correct these other bugs:
- Fixed a claim in the transform tool when working on a tablet or touch device.
- Fixed continuous transformation in transformation tool.
- Fixed updates to the transformation tool.
- Displays the time of publication on the welcome page news ticker in the user's preferred date / time format.
- Fixed the use of the normal tangent brush with the rolled or reflected layer.
- It is again possible to create new palettes and save them to the resource folder, instead of the current document.
- Krita no longer gobbles up all available memory when loading a JPG file with specific metadata.
- Restrict the wizard editors to the viewport so they can always be manipulated.
- They have ensured that Krita stores changes to brush presets in the current session by default.
- Removed a claim that could be triggered when opening the first image in a session.
- Updated the version of the default input configuration so that the rotate / zoom action is triggered even if the user already had a local kritadefault.profile file.
- Fixed a crash when using the move tool while opening the image.
- They have ensured that the painting tools are no longer blocked.
- They have made the shortcut handling system more tolerant when shortcuts overlap.
- Fixed a crash in the transform tool.
- They have made the tools of transformation and movement more responsive.
Download Krita in different formats
As we explained in the previous version, Krita 4.2.5 will be available soon for Windows, macOS and Linux from this link. For Linux it will arrive as flatpak package, Snap, from the Ubuntu repository (https://launchpad.net/~kritalime/+archive/ubuntu/ppa) and the Gentoo version (layman -a bloody && emerge –sync && emerge krita). From the official download website we can download its AppImage. The question that remains, although the answer should be yes, is whether in two weeks they will launch Krita 4.2.6 to continue polishing this great program for cartoonists.
