A few weeks ago we told you about the surprising situation that the Krita Foundation and this famous graphics editing software were going through. Days later we have seen how this imaging software has released a new version and it seems that it has overcome all its problems.
Krita 3.2 is now available for all users and for new ones too. This new version brings some news that we will see in Krita 4, the next big version of this image editing software.
Krita has overcome her financial problems or so it seems. On its website there is an accountant with the funds raised to maintain the software. Happily, Krita has achieved 195% of the necessary income, good news that will ensure the future of this software. At least until the future Krita 4.
Krita 3.2 incorporates two important new features compared to previous versions. One of these novelties is the inclusion of a new version of the gmic-qt plugin, a new version of the old plugin known as the gmic plugin. This new version replaces everything related to gmic plugin and although it offers stability, it is still a plugin under test. This plugin will only be present in versions for Windows and Gnu / Linux.
Another novelty of Krita 3.2 is in Touch Painting function, a function that will allow us to use the finger and a touch screen to draw. A very interesting function for those who use Krita for more than resizing images.
Krita 3.2 already has the Smart Patch tool. A new Krita function that will allow us to modify the tools loaded by default, the interface, etc… A function that was planned to be included in Krita 4, but which has been decided to launch in this version.
The new version of Krita will come to our distributions very soon, but if we want we can test it with a package in AppImage format that we can get from the official website of the software.
