Kodi 19.3 arrives earlier than expected to fix bugs present in the previous version

Kodi 19.3

Just yesterday I messed up the Kodi on my Raspberry Pi and had to start from scratch. After starting it, the famous "Media Center" told me that the v19.2 of the same, but I could not install that version because the one in the official repositories is still v18.7. That's what its developers mean when, in the release note de Kodi 19.3, said that many would still be waiting for the previous knitted version and have already released the next one.

Kodi 19.3 is the third maintenance update for Matrix, and it does not include any new features. If it has been launched so soon it is because they wanted to polish things up a bit, and that many of us are not yet using the previous version has had something to do with the launch of Kodi 19.3, so that those of us who were not yet in that installment would not have to suffer the problems it contained.

Kodi 19.3 highlights

  • They had some issues publishing the Xbox version due to some specific platform requirements needed for 4k / HEVC playback. They should have already covered these requirements to Microsoft's satisfaction, and you've finally made it to the Windows Store.
  • There was also and they have fixed an issue with an expired certificate for version 18.9 on Xbox, which was causing the version to be left out of that platform for new installations.
  • There was an Atmos audio issue for a long time on all platforms that support TrueHD passthrough. Already solved.
  • Fixed a regression in version 19.2 that broke Airplay.
  • A couple of game-related fixes, in particular a controller fix and some shading issues in Retroplayer.
  • Fixed a bug that affected the miniatures of the episodes seen when the spoilers of the episodes were hidden.
  • The metadata displayed in Linux app stores has been greatly improved.

Kodi 19.3 has been announced today, so it is now available for download. At least that's the way it is for those who download the software from its official website or repository. A Linux will come from the hand of Flathub in the next few hours. If, like me, you have a Raspberry Pi with the official operating system, well, it will be time to keep waiting.
