The KDE project announced the immediate Availability of the second maintenance update for KDE Plasma 5.14, KDE Plasma version 5.14.2.
Arriving just a week after the first maintenance update, KDE Plasma 5.14.2 is here with a new layer of enhancements and fixes to improve the stability of the series.
New in this update includes an improvement in firmware updates and a better support for Snaps in the Plasma Discover software manager.
KDE Plasma 5.14.2 adds accessibility information for desktop icons, fixes a type in a GTK Breeze theme style, lowers the version of the Qt dependency in Plasma Browser, improves focus handling in Plasma Desktop, and updates the Plasma Networkmanager to display the upload and download speed correctly.
Among other interesting changes that are included in KDE Plasma 5.14.2, we can mention the fix a bug discovered in Plasma Workspace, which caused Plasmashell to freeze when expected to get information about available space on remote file systems after losing connection, better compatibility with Firefox 58 for bookmarks.
There are a total of 44 changes in this second release in the KDE Plasma 5.14 series, so the developers strongly recommend updating as soon as the packages arrive in the stable repositories of your favorite distributions.
The next update is expected, KDE Plasma 5.14.3, arrive next month, specifically November 6, 2018.
