KDE Plasma 5.11 comes with new features

The KDE developer group has worked hard for us to have plasma 5.11, a new version of this desktop environment that comes with news and improvements as usual. The graphical environment for GNU / Linux distributions and other free operating systems has included new functionalities and improvements for various functional and aesthetic elements and components that we can enjoy in what is probably the most powerful and flexible desktop environment out there, and of course, next to GNOME the two most important.

KDE Plasma 5.11 has been developed during the past months, and launching some Beta since mid-September that already showed what will be the final version and test the news for the most anxious users. One of the novelties I am talking about is the redesign of the app for the configuration of the system, that is, the control panel that it implements. Now you have more direct access to the most common options and greater ease of use, as well as other novelties in Plasma Vault and the secure storage app.

In a KDE announcement you can see that KDE Plasma 5.11 users will find more sensitivity, confidentiality and privacy for their information, the new plasma vault It will offer strong encryption in a user-friendly way, allowing to block and encrypt documents and hide them with the greatest ease of use. But they are not the only improvements, we also have news in the Task Manager and of course in the notification system.

Another great novelty is better support for the new Wayland graphics server. The replacement for X you already know that includes many advantages and modernizes the old and colossal system, modernizing the environment. All this will be spiced up with other improvements present in version 5.11 such as the directory view and the application launcher menu. Many news that we will have already available for download and installation in our distributions, or also to update if we already have a previous version ...
