The KDE project today announced the third maintenance update for KDE Applications 18.08, which marks the end of the series' development cycle.

Arriving in August of the 2018, KDE Applications 18.08 remained the current software for three months, but now, as usual, the arrival of the third maintenance update, KDE 18.08.3, marks the end of the road for this series.

KDE 18.08.3 is a very big update, it has 20 fixes and improvements for different applications like Ark, Dolphin, Kate, KDE Games, Kontact, Okular and Umbrello, in addition to having translation updates.

The most important improvements in this release include the ability for the Kmail mail client to remember the HTML view mode, as well as load external images if allowed, support for the Kate text editor to remember meta information, including bookmarks, among sessions, and updated automatic scrolling in the Telepathy text interface.

The Umbrello IDE now lets users run “docbook export” from the build directory, the KItinerary travel information tools now automatically detect space on compact tickets, and the Dolphin file browser no longer enables two-click renaming in one-click mode.

The Ark file manager has been updated to have support for disabling the Compress menu on remote URLs and the ability to display the Extract menu on files without an extension.
