InstallVPS: what if installing everything you need on a server was as easy as one click?

InstallVPS capture from the web

I think the title already says everything. Normally, raising a dedicated server or VPS implies installing the base operating system, and once it is done, we have to install and configure a series of applications to leave the server ready. For example, if we want to mount our LAMP server, we must have our Linux distro installed, and also install Apache, MySQL and PHP. It was a task that until now we could not get rid of if we wanted to have the server.

But now, an interesting project called InstallVPS allows us install with one click and all from its web platform, in a simple way and that will not take us more than a few seconds to enter our username, password, IP or hostname of the server where we want to install, and choose between the various supported distros options and applications we want. It's that simple, then we click on the button to start the installation and we can neglect the equipment while this project does all the work for us ...

Platform InstallVPS is compatible with any hosting provider in the world, it is fast, simple, it does not need registration, as well as being safe by protecting our password and eliminating it when the installation has been carried out. It is a flexible platform, with support for Ubuntu 16 and 18, in addition to Debian 8 or 9 and other distros such as Red Hat and CentOS will come soon.

And if you're wondering about the applications that you can install with that simple click and leave ready and configured, the list is as follows:

  • Web server LAMP
  • Web server PML
  • Confidential Information MySQL
  • Private cloud ownCloud
  • Cloud NextCloud
  • Webmin
  • CMP WordPress
  • And much more…

They have never made it so easy for you, so if you have a hosting provider that does not have a service to install this type of apps automatically or simply does not have the one you are looking for among them, in InstallVPS you will find your best help.

Thanks for the article, but several things worry me:

Why would I give my server credentials to strangers?
Why don't you have an about us? I mean, who are they?
Why is it not OpenSource and the scripts are not shared?
What guarantees me that they will not install malware or a cryptominer or a backdoor?

You have to be out of your mind to give the root credentials to a third party.
