How to install Qt Creator on Gnu / Linux

QtCreator

In recent months an IDE created by the QT company has gained prominence, the IDE in question is called QT Creator and its success is due, among other things, to its incorporation into the Ubuntu SDK.

The Ubuntu SDK to create convergent apps and apps for Ubuntu Phone use QT Creator. This IDE is optimized so that anyone, be it expert or novice, can create an app in a matter of minutes, something that many users are experiencing and verifying personally.

However, this tool is not unique to Ubuntu rather, it can be installed on any Gnu / Linux distribution for free. For its installation we will not need to install KDE or Plasma from the QT libraries, it will be enough to download an installation package and have an Internet connection.

Qt Creator is the tool used in the Ubuntu SDK

The installation of QT Creator is very easy and we can do it using two methods. The main and recommended method is to do it via official repositories. Some distributions have Qt Creator in their official repositories like Ubuntu. But unfortunately not all distributions have this installation possibility. For those who cannot install Qt Creator from repositories there is the official method by which we we download the installer and he takes care of installing QT Creator.

For that we go to the official website and we download the installation file, then we open a terminal where the file is and we write the following:

chmod + x qt-creator-opensource-linux-x86_64-4.1.0.run

./qt-creator-opensource-linux-x86_64-4.1.0.run

After this, the installation of QT Creator will begin, starting with the download first. So for this method we will need to have an Internet connection.

QT Creator is a very complete IDE but it also allows the ability to add plugins to improve the IDE functionalities, these plugins can be found on the official Qt Creator page although there are also other less official add-ons that work in this IDE.

I personally think it is a fairly complete and easy-to-use tool that any user can use, although there are more tools that can do the same function or maybe not? What do you think?
