After being in the development phase for almost 15 years, open source graphics software Inkscape has finally reached its first final version, with many improvements and news.
Inkscape is an SVG graphics editor compatible with Linux, Mac and Windows, and can be used to create vector graphics such as logos, diagrams, illustrations and everything in between.
Inkscape 1.0 is a major release, the first to be out of the "in development" version and all fans have been waiting for this event for a long time, and now that it has arrived it brings with it many highly anticipated features and enhancements.
Some of the most exciting new features in Inkscape 1.0 include the UI update to better support 4K / HiDPI displays and support for themes, the ability to rotate and mirror the canvas, a new option to export in PNG format, diverse fonts, and much faster search and select operations.

First alpha version of Inkscape 1.0 is available now
In Inkscape 1.0 we can find the ability to control the size of the PowerStroke tool with touch sensitive gestures for touch screens.
An alpha, pre-release version of Inkscape 1.0 is available for download via AppImage for Linux-based devices. A source code package can be downloaded to compile on Mac or Windows. More details on the release of Inkscape 1.0 will be revealed very soon, but you can check the first notes at this link.
