Heliborne: the war helicopter video game for Linux

heliborne

You can now purchase heliborne in the care of Valve Steam for less than € 20Although if you want to pay a little more you can access extra content as usual in some titles or packs that we can find on Steam. Well, going back to the title we are analyzing today, Heliborne, it is a war helicopter simulation video game with more than decent graphics with which to spend hours entertaining in front of the screen of your system doing the different fights and traveling the maps that are available.

Sinceramente There are not many games like this for Linux, at least they are not frequent. It is a great title of combat helicopters with models quite well achieved graphically speaking. It includes 40 different helicopter models of various generations, both somewhat more classic and more modern models. We can handle them in single player mode, in cooperative game mode and also online multiplayer.

There are wide open maps in which to fly, with multiple control schemes, so you can pilot in an arcade way or in a more realistic way if you prefer it to become something more similar to a simulator. In these maps you will be able to face enemies by air, sea and land to try to win. And it seems that the developers want to continue giving surprises so they have planned to launch more game modes, new weapons and equipment, naval maps, etc.

The main problem with Heliborne is the user interface o UI that includes, which is poorly maintained and when you are in the moment before entering the game you can see some confusion, disorder and a lot of work on the part of the user when you want to invite new players in the multiplayer mode. Also, you cannot jump directly into an open battle, but you choose one of the available battles and see if it allows you to join, and there is only luck in some specific ones. But otherwise it is quite good… However soon they will surely improve all this.
