Green Recorder 3.0 Release: the new version of the app to record your desktop

green recorder

There are several applications to record what happens on our screen, even on occasions we have also mentioned some options to take screenshots of our console. Well, the developers of the project that we bring you today have released a new version of this application, it is Green Recorder 3.0 that relies on Python to build it, the famous and powerful FFmpeg and GTK +3 to record everything that happens in our screen and be able to make video tutorials, etc.

Also the new version has new features and updates. As we can see in the main image, it is a program with a simple graphical interface and with several interesting functionalities. From the settings we can select to record the entire screen or only a specific window or area, the frames per second of capture, the type of audio output and video format (codec), recording delay, etc. We can also select where to save the captured video and if we want to record the action of the mouse cursor, video, audio, and even if we want to follow the cursor ...

Green Recorder 3.0 is simple and works on all Linux distributions, it is free and released under the GPL 3v license. The drawback I had is that it did not support the Wayland graphical server, but now it has support for Wayland. Regarding the supported video formats we have AVI, MKV, MP4 and also to create GIFs, although the sessions with Wayland only support WebM for the moment and it will use V8 encoder due to the CPU and RAM consumption problems that the V9 version has. .

El GIF support It is one of the novelties, in addition the images are optimized to have an improvement in them. Now we also have the possibility to change the audio input if we have different sources, something that is very appreciated. And of course it takes better advantage of the capabilities of FFMpeg. The system for detecting graphic servers present in the system has also been improved, adding the possibility of including support for new future servers.

Hello, why do you say it is an "app"?
In theory, I think, an "app" is a mobile application, and more specifically for Apple. It is not like this?
