Godot 3.0 Alpha has been released

it gets

Godot is an open source project (under MIT license) of a graphics engine for video games or graphics in both 2D and 3D. It is also completely free, something that we cannot find in other graphics engines. It is still in an early phase of its development, specifically Godot 3.0 Alpha has been launched, the first of this first phase. You can get more information about the project on its page official website. From there you can also download the Linux packages in the download area, both 32-bit and 64-bit for the latest stable version.

The Beta will bring support to use scripts in programming language Python 3, plus GDScript, VisualScript, and C #. As you can see in the image, it has a graphical interface to use all the elements and functionalities available to create graphical animations, which as you can also see are quite a few, something normal in this type of professional software. In addition, the editor has a new theme that we can adapt, and it is not the only new thing that they bring us ...

It also has support WebGL 2.0 and WebAssembly, with support for the iPhone MFi remote. The GDNative animation API that it has is almost finished, so we will soon see the final stable version with all these features concluded. There are also changes to the speed of the new particle system, with more and more powerful options, as well as hundreds of other improvements.

At the moment they say they have no plans for Vulkan, so the developers will continue to focus on working with OpenGL 3S 3.0 and OpenGL 3.3 with which they have a lot of work. Hopefully, in the future they will be able to adapt the support for Vulkan, as CRYENGINE did, which we announced this week on the LxA blog. The launches will be made weekly or biweekly, so more news related to this project will come soon.
