Gnome Video Arcade (GVA) is an interface for MAME that works in GNOME desktop environments. It is a simple way to get the roms of your games favorite classics on your Linux. For those who do not know MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator), it is a classic video game emulator. What this software does is emulate machines with old hardware that are already difficult to get where those games that made our childhood different were executed.

All those old games that came out from the 70s and decades later, can be run on your PC thanks to this emulator. M appeared for the first time in 1997 and evolved to this day. Now on GNU / Linux systems with a GNOME desktop (with other desktops we will have to look for other alternatives such as KXMAME or KmameRun for KDE) this interface can be used to spend hours playing.

The classic games they are found in ROM images. A ROM is basically a package with the data of the hardware board of the machine where the specific video game was running and of course the software that makes the video game possible. So we have everything we need for the emulator to recreate the appropriate conditions and allow us to entertain ourselves. What are you waiting for to play those games again? Mario, Tetris, Donkey Kong, Street Fighter, Mortal Combat, PacMan, Battle City, Arkanoid, ...
