First version of Arch Linux from 2016 available now

Arch

Arch Linux has a new version to release in 2016. Version 2016.1.1 has the kernel version updated to 4.3.3, which is the last stable version until today

If you regularly use Arch Linux, you will know that due to its Rolling Release update policy, Arch Linux has a new version every month. This time it was the turn of the pfirst version of the coming year, that is to say, 2016.

The Rolling Release update system differs from regular updates in that it is performed more often and in that it is being updated little by little, It does not require formatting the system, also having an always updated equipment.

The 2016.1.1 version has quite important changes, the most notable of all is the move to the Linux kernel version 4.3.3 which is undoubtedly great news for Arch Linux users, since it is the most advanced version that there is right now of the Kernel in the absence of the future version 4.4.

In addition, this update brings, as usual, the correction of errors found by users in the previous version. What's more brings all the software updated which usually brings the latest version, such as the Mozilla Firefox browser. Finally highlight the compatibility with PHP 7, which is also the latest version.

We have already talked many times here about Arch Linux, an operating system compatible with a lot of desktops and fully customizable to the device. Arch is a system that adapts to your needs, since you can run it both on a powerful desktop PC and on a Raspberry Pi using RaspArch.

If you are already an Arch Linux user, remember that you must execute the command pacman -Syu to update the system to this version (and to do it once a month to be always updated obviously).

If, on the other hand, you are new and you dare to try this fantastic operating system, go to the Arch Linux official page and download the last version.

But if Archlinux doesn't have versions, right?

I think it more exactly refers to the image available for download from the ArchLinux website. Which is required when ArchLinux is to be installed from scratch.

Is it the same for each of the Arch Linux based distributions?
