Today we are delighted to announce the availability of the first stable version of Apricity OS, specifically version 07.2016 which is already available for download and installation.

apricity OS is an operating system derived from Arch Linux and as such, it has the Rolling Release update system. This update system brings out small updates from time to time (for example every month), which, being small, do not force you to format the PC to keep it updated. In this way, we will be able to have the computer up to date without too much effort.

This distribution stands out for being a fairly elegant distributionas it has a design that is literally flawless to the human eye. The desktops that are responsible for making its graphical interface work are to choose between Gnome 3,20 and Cinnamon 3.0.7. Regarding the kernel, we have the linux 4.6.4 kernel as the system kernel.

Regarding the programs, Apricity OS combines Arch Linux repositories for core software, with its own repository for other types of packages. Among the most important packages within the own repository we have icon and fund packages, backup packages and a modified Google Chrome with certain add-ons among others.

The person in charge of performing the majority of software installations ands the Calamares software, a software that allows you to perform the installation graphically, without having to enter commands or using the console.

Clearly a simple but effective operating system, capable of running most applications on the market without losing elegance. It really is reminiscent of the Spanish distribution Antergos, a distribution based on Arch Linux with similar features to Apricity OS.
