Firefox Relay comes out of beta, and comes with new options available only by subscription

firefox relay

I think it is no secret that nobody likes SPAM. If anyone has the slightest doubt, we have to remember that in Spanish it is translated as email not wanted, which is why, when we register for many services, we do so with an email that is not the main one so that it is not filled with messages that do not provide us with anything. For this reason, companies like Apple or Mozilla have launched services that hide the royal mail, calling each other firefox relay the proposal of the second.

Firefox Relay has been on beta basis, at least, since May 2020, a tag that has just been dropped, that is, it is already in stable version. This has been announced in an article which, oddly enough, seems to also redirect traffic and to me, at the time of writing, it has only partially loaded into Firefox and Vivaldi. But the news is that they have also introduced Firefox Relay Premium, with which the paying users will receive an improved service.

Firefox Relay Premium will allow more aliases

“During the beta testing phase, we heard from many users who wanted more email address aliases. So we decided to offer a Premium service where subscribers will receive a subdomain alias to create an unlimited number of email aliases, for example, coffeestore@yourdomain.mozmail.com or yourfavoriteshoestore@yourdomain.mozmail.com; a summary panel of your email aliases; the option to use your email aliases to reply to emails directly; and customer support through our practical contact form. Premium subscribers will also receive the 150 kb attachment that is currently available to free subscribers.

For those who do not know what Firefox Relay offers, it is basically an alias where the mail will be sent where we are using it. For example, if I sign up for a service and use pablinux@mozilla.com, all emails will go there. If the service does not have the best intentions, you can also send advertising emails to us. If we do it many times, our inbox will always be full of spam. The idea of Relay, like that of other similar services, is that we use an alias, one that they will accept because it is a valid email and with which we can create rules in our email service if we see it necessary. With the Premium version we can use even more aliases.

As for prices, they are € 0.99 / $ 0.99. If we don't need so many aliases, the service is free and can be accessed from relay.firefox.com.
